Pastapsco Valley State Park Ellicott City, Maryland
This is a gem within the Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC area. Patapsco has something to offer the outdoor enthusiast. For the off-road cyclist there are plenty of challenging rock gardens and climbs to work your legs. This ride includes some fun fast flowy sections as well. It’s terrain is at times hilly, rocky, flat, wooded and paved.
These trails are ranked in the top 100 IMBA epic trails! The park touches four metropolitan counties, several towns and is in the backyards of thousands of people. There are gorges and waterfalls, bridges and caves, rocky outcroppings and corridors for deer to roam. Originally called a “forest preserve” or “river forest park”.
Patapsco Valley State Park extends along 32 miles of the Patapsco River, encompassing 16,043 acres and eight developed recreational areas including opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, canoeing, horseback riding.
